Achieving the beautiful smile you've always wanted.
Porcelain veneers are a great option to improve your smile when other options such as teeth whitening and microabrasion aren't enough. Veneers are a thin, natural-looking porcelain material that is custom-fabricated by a local lab to achieve the ideal look for your teeth. They not only can change the color of your teeth, but can also change the shape of your teeth and close any gaps that may be present. They are more conservative than crowns and preserve more of your natural tooth because they only cover the front of your tooth. They are very durable and are bonded to the tooth with a very strong adhesive, so will last for a long time with regular brushing, flossing, and dental check ups.
What are some reasons I would need veneers?
Veneers can be the solution for a variety of issues. They can be used for:
- To give the best esthetic smile possible
- Deeply-stained or discolored teeth
- Excessive spacing between the teeth
- Misshapen or misaligned teeth
- Chipped teeth
- Teeth that are too small or too large
What is the process like to get veneers?
Veneers are done in multiple appointments. The first step would be to evaluate your current dentition, discuss your goals, and plan the entire process. We will also take pictures and impressions at this initial appointment to do a diagnostic wax-up, where we actually will be able to show you a model of what the teeth would look like. The second appointment would be the appointment at which we would prepare your teeth for the veneers. This involves making room for the porcelain material by reducing the front surface of the teeth and taking an impression. We then fabricate custom temporaries for you chairside, which you'll wear for 2-3 weeks while we send the impression to the lab for fabrication of the final veneers. The third and final appointment of the process would be the try-in and cementation of the final veneers. We will remove the temporaries, clean up any of the temporary cement that may be left behind, and try in the veneers to make sure you're 100% happy with the shape, size, and shade of them. After you are happy with them we will bond them in place with the permanent cement and you'll be on your way with your beautiful new smile!
